The cricket match between India and England which was played yesterday at the Ekana Sports City, Lucknow was the first match of the ongoing ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in which India batted first and it managed to clinch victory from the defending champions despite poor show from the batters.
Well, nowadays cricket is pretty much about entertainment and in order to pull spectators towards the stadium, the authorities not only arranged the DJ but there was a colourful lighting show in the drinks break and fireworks celebration after the match as well.

Yesterday’s match got connected with Aamir Khan starrer “Lagaan” which released in 2001 after the Indian online users started demanding three times taxes (lagaan) from the England cricket team. The story of the movie “Lagaan” was based in the period when India was ruled by England and a team of Indian villagers was left with no option other than playing a cricket match with a team of British officers if they wanted a waiver in taxes. The condition that was put forth by the English officer was that the villagers won’t need to pay taxes for two years if they win the match but if they lose then they will have to play three times than the usual tax. The movie was a big hit at the box-office and yesterday the DJ played the song, “Chale Chalo” during the match which certainly suited the conditions.
Here is the video in which you can hear the song, “Chale Chalo” in the stadium:

Enough to defend 3 guna lagaan?#INDvENG | #AavaDe | #CWC23 | #WorldCupKeTitans

The Indian cricket team had a tough time while batting as they could manage only 229/9 in their stipulated 50 overs but their bowlers made up for the batting by bowling brilliantly, wrapping up the whole England team for just 129 runs and making their team win the match by 100 runs.
“Chale Chalo” is certainly an apt song for the India-England match, what do you say?
