The India-Bangladesh ODI match is being played currently at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune and Bangladeshi fans are hoping to see their team making an upset in the tournament by defeating the Indian cricket team in today’s match.

The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 has already seen two big upsets as first Afghanistan stunned the defending champions England and then Netherlands defeated South Africa.

Ahead of the match, the Indian cricketer Virat Kohli talked about the match with Bangladesh and the Bangladeshi skipper Shakib Al Hasan. Talking about Shakib Al Hasan, Virat Kohli stated that over the years, he has played a lot against Shakib who has huge experience as well as good control. Virat further praised Shakib Al Hasan by saying that he bowls pretty well with the new ball, is very economical and knows how to trick the batter.

Virat Kohli says that a batter needs to give his best against these bowlers otherwise they will create pressure which will increase chances of the batter getting out. Virat Kohli said that there are no big teams in the World Cup tournament and whenever focus gets shifted to big teams, an upset happens.

Earlier Shakib Al Hasan also praised Virat Kohli and called him a special player and probably the best batter of the present times. Shakib also says that he is quite lucky as he has dismissed Virat Kohli 5 times.

Allan Donald, the bowling coach of the Bangladeshi team, also opines that Virat Kohli is that one player about whom the opposition thinks a night before or two days before because his wicket is very valuable.

As far as the match is concerned, Shakib Al Hasan is not playing the match because of the injury that he got in the match against New Zealand. Najmul Hossain Shanto is the stand-in skipper in absence of Shakib and after winning the toss, Bangladesh decided to bat first.

They got a good start as Tanzid Hasan (51 runs, 43 balls, 5 fours & 3 sixes) and Litton Das (66 runs, 82 balls, 3 fours ) produced a partnership of 93 runs for the first wicket. Mushfiqur Rahim (38 runs) and Mahmudullah (46 runs) also played useful knocks and helped their team in putting up a total of 256/8 on the scoreboard in their fifty overs.
